Having identified and deployed ConcurrenceCatalyst as a key component in plans to improve and enhance the quality of bid and proposal submissions, Biwater - a world leader in the water industry, then began to look pro-actively at ways in which the tool could add value in other areas of the business.

The first operating area to benefit from this wider deployment of Catalyst was the technical publications team who regularly produce electronic Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals and commissioning documentation for customers

Jill Thumwood (Commissioning Administrator) is responsible for compiling the electronic O&M manuals and commissioning documents; a process which invariably requires a large number of documents to be gathered, collated and published for issue to customers, consultants and key staff.

After using Catalyst for a number of months Jill has demonstrated to the business that there are significant savings being made because of the technology now available.

Catalyst has dramatically reduced the time taken to create the O&M manuals and the commissioning documents, as well as adding extra functionality to the end product.

“Using ConcurrenceCatalyst with its functions such as version control has meant that there are significant cost savings, not just in producing the manuals, but also in making amendments and updates,” commented Jill, “Not only have there been significant time and cost benefits within the production process, but the final output of the manuals now carries a very professional finish that we can brand for ourselves, or for our Joint Ventures as necessary.”

Finally Jill also uses Catalyst to send out a disk with commissioning documentation on it and it is much easier now for the engineers on site to locate and access all of the documentation that they need.

“All in all the ConcurrenceCatalyst software has delivered a huge benefit to our Technical Documentation Dept and we will be using it for all of our electronic O&M manuals” concluded Jill.
